Children's Worship and Sunday School
Sunday Morning Worship
Children are welcome and encouraged to participate in any of the worship services with their parents. At the 8:15 and 11:05 services, our pastor will invite the children to sit with him at the front of the church during the children’s sermon. Young children (2 years – kindergarten) who attend worship services may pick up a worship bag at the back entrance, which is supplied with fun and quiet activities that will keep little hands busy during the sermon time. Please return the used bags to the basket at the end of the service.
Sunday School is available 9:45 - 10:45 am for all children who have turned 18 months by September 1st. We strongly encourage parents to bring their children to Sunday School on an ongoing basis. We believe that children need to be with their peers learning about the faith in an age appropriate environment. We ask that all regular attendees register so that we can assign your child to an appropriate class.
Computer Check-In
Christ Church is serious about your child’s safety. All children who enter a classroom must check-in at one of our computer Check-In Kiosks. A volunteer will ask for the last four digits of your primary phone number or your last name to bring up your family information on the touch screen. After confirming the classroom assignments and the time of attendance volunteers print a nametag for each child. Parents receive a security claim check for kids 2nd grade and younger. Children in 3rd - 5th grade are allowed to check-in without a parent.
Children wear the nametag on their clothes for security purposes. At the end of the class time, parents need to go directly to their child’s classroom; if you were given a security claim check you must present that to pick up your child. If your child has not attended a class at Christ Church before, the volunteer will take a few seconds to input the child's information and assign him or her to an age-appropriate class.
Volunteer Opportunities
There are many opportunities to serve in the Children’s Ministry department. We have an All-star team of adult and youth volunteers, and we would love to have you be part of our team.
Wee Worship
During the 11:05 hour, children ages 3 years old - kindergarten are also invited to participate in Wee Worship in 107, 108 & 109. Children are encouraged to attend the first part of worship in the11:05 am service with their families. They will be taken to Children’s Worship after the Children’s Sermon, or children may go directly to Wee Worship after the 9:45 am Sunday School hour.
Wee Worship meets from September - May. During the summer, kids are encouraged to attend the entire worship service with their parents.
