Programs and Activities
Our children are an important part of the Christ Church family. They are encouraged to participate in the life of the church through worship, and we offer a variety of opportunities for kids to grow as disciples of Christ and learn just how much God loves them! We also offer programs to support parents who are the primary teachers for their children.
Children in 3rd - 5th grades can attend training to have the privilege of bringing the light of Christ into the worship service by lighting the altar candles and carrying the light out at the end of the service, supporting the pastor during children's sermon and assisting with communion. Contact Shara Preston.
Our Children’s Choir Program includes children in preschool through fifth grade. They sing in the worship services periodically throughout the year and at special occasions. They also present musicals in the fall during the Live Nativity and in the spring during Sunday services on Children's Day. Please check out our Music Ministry for more information.
4th and 5th grade “Girl Time”
Once a month, fourth and fifth grade girls are invited to meet for an organized fun activity with their “Girl Time” leaders. Sunday 2:00-4:00 Activities include a pool party, scavenger hunt, shopping for others, caroling and hot chocolate, wild and crazy bowling, craft-mania, and mother-daughter dinner, friends’ sundae Sunday, Bunco fun, movie madness and more. Watch for more information about upcoming "Girl Time".
Missions
All 4th and 5th grade students are encouraged to participate in a monthly mission activity which is scheduled usually on a Sunday afternoon from 11:00-1:00.
The 4th grade focus is community and their activities benefit East Fort Bend Human needs Ministry. The 5th grade focus is global and most of what they do benefits our missions in Mexico.
MOPS: Mothers of Preschoolers
The purpose of MOPS is to nurture every mother of preschoolers by meeting her distinct needs to the glory of Jesus Christ. MOPS meetings include topics such as child-rearing, womanhood, the home and marriage - all of which are based on biblical principles. Creative activities add fun and develop new skills. MOPS strives to fulfill the needs for friendship, creativity and for spiritual growth. MOPS meets twice a month, September through May on Fridays from 9:30 am - noon.
MOPPETS is the children's program. Children from birth through kindergarten are cared for in a loving environment. Contact Meredith Pennington via email or at 281.545.1221.
Scouting
Christ Church proudly sponsors Boy Scout Troop 441. Boy Scouts is a program which aims to develop moral strength and character, citizenship and mental and physical fitness in boys and young men in the 6th grade through 18 years of age.
Scouts are taught how to achieve big things through many small steps and how to be focused and goal oriented. They follow a code of conduct, "the scout law", and are taught duty to God and country, to help others and to learn how to take care of themselves.
