Programs and Activities
Our children are an important part of the Christ Church family. They are encouraged to participate in the life of the church through worship, and we offer a variety of opportunities for kids to grow as disciples of Christ and learn just how much God loves them! We also offer programs to support parents who are the primary teachers for their children.
4th and 5th Grade “Girl Time”
Once a month, fourth and fifth grade girls are invited to meet for an organized fun activity with their “Girl Time” leaders. Activities include a pool party, scavenger hunt, shopping for others, caroling and hot chocolate, wild and crazy bowling, craft-mania, friends’ sundae Sunday, Bunco fun, movie madness, mother-daughter dinner, and more. Watch for more information about upcoming "Girl Time" events.
4th and 5th Grade “Guy Time”
Once a quarter the 4th and 5th grade guys are invited to meet for an organized fun activity to promote fellowship and team building. The activities are planned on Sunday afternoons, generally from 2:00 - 3:30 pm when the guys will gather for games and activities. Activities include group games in the gym like basketball, dodgeball, or frisbee golf. Off-site activities include things like fishing or grilling.
5th Grade Girlz Bible Study
5th grade girls are encouraged to participate in this 6-week Bible study. Held in the fall and the spring on Wednesdays from 3:30 - 4:30 pm. The girls come straight from school so we meet in the kitchen for a substantial snack them move into our Bible study time.
Children in 3rd - 8th grade can attend training to have the privilege of being a part of our worship team. Acolytes bring the light of Christ into the worship service by lighting the altar candles, and they carry the light out at the end of the service. They also support the pastor during the children's sermon and assist with communion. Questions? Contact Judy Hicks via email or at 281.980.8727.
Our Children’s Choir Program includes children in preschool through fifth grade. The kids sing in the worship services periodically throughout the year and at special occasions. They also present musicals in the fall during the Live Nativity and in the spring during Sunday services on Children's Day. Please check out our Music Ministry for more information.
Missions
All 4th and 5th grade students are encouraged to participate in a monthly mission activity which is scheduled usually on a Sunday afternoon from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. The 4th grade focus is community and their activities benefit East Fort Bend Human needs Ministry. The 5th grade focus is global and most of what they do benefits our missions in Mexico.
MOMSnext
Christ Church is excited to launch a new ministry for mothers of school-aged children. MOPS International has designed this new program to encourage, equip, and develop moms for the next phase of mothering. As kids enter the school years, new challenges and issues arise, but the need for community and hope remains.
Come join a community of moms as we tackle the challenges and issues that arise with our school-aged children. There will be plenty of fellowship, discussion, and prayer for our children at each of our meetings followed by an optional lunch out. Throughout the year we will participate in many fun activities including potluck lunches and service projects with our children. MOMSnext meets twice a month, September through May on Wednesdays from 9:30 am – 11:30 am.
For more information on MOMSnext, contact Stacey Johnson, Membership Coordinator, via email or contact Amy Abels, Coordinator, via email or at 281.208.0289.

MOPS meetings include topics such as child-rearing, womanhood, the home and marriage - all of which are based on biblical principles. Creative activities add fun and develop new skills. MOPS strives to fulfill the needs for friendship, creativity and for spiritual growth. MOPS meets twice a month, September through May on Fridays from 9:30 am - noon.
MOPPETS is the children's program. Children from birth through kindergarten are cared for in a loving environment. Contact Missy Thompson via email or at 281.937.0259.
