Community Missions

The Missions program at Christ Church is dedicated to Offering Christ to the community through projects outside the church building itself.  All missions activities are open to members and non-members alike.  Christ Church tries to instill the need to participate in the community in all its members, from the first graders' participation in the Heifer Project to the adult's participation in the Sock Monkey Ministry.

Please look at the missions and choose to help.  Some are one-time activities or contributions; others require a more long-term commitment.  Some simply need your financial support; others need your time and effort.  There is a way for everyone to help.

Nothing But Nets
Malaria kills a child every 30 seconds in Africa, and bed nets are the most cost-effective way to protect children from the mosquitoes that carry this killer disease. The people of The United Methodist Church are a founding partner in the Nothing But Nets campaign, and in support of that effort, Christ Church is sponsoring Nothing but Sweat for Nothing But Nets, a 230 mile ride to raise $100,000. For each $10 donation, an insecticide-treated bed net is purchased and distributed to Africa, where education also is provided about its use. Checks can be made out to "CUMC," but please notate “Nothing But Nets” on your check.
