HOST a HomeGroup

Are you considering hosting a HomeGroup? We ask that you read the below and prayerfully consider your decision.

A HOST…

Has a heart for the church,
Opens his or her home for HomeGroup gatherings,
Serves as a group leader, and
Tells a few friends about the HomeGroup experience, and invites them to become part of the HomeGroup family.

As a HOST, you will be asked to...

  • Open your home to others once weekly for the purpose of fellowship and study.
  • View with your HomeGroup members a Bible-based video and facilitate discussion of this video using the curriculum provided.
  • Identify group members who can help you to coordinate the serving of a snack or meal during each gathering.
  • Stay in periodic contact with each HomeGroup member, offering encouragement and assuring that all feel a part of the small group experience.
  • Give us feedback on the HomeGroup experience, and periodically provide us with a member roster so that we can place into groups others who might wish to be in a HomeGroup.

You don't need to be a teacher, - just a facilitator! You will simply guide your group through each week's study, utilizing leadership tips provided to assist you. HOST training is available to all, and support is offered by a ministry team ready to extend assistance and encouragement to all HomeGroup HOSTs.

Who should consider being a HOST...

If you are not in a weekly small group* at present, you should prayerfully consider hosting a HomeGroup. The study in which your HomeGroup will engage will include a weekly video lesson and a short discussion, using a format designed especially for small groups.

*For those of you currently participating in a Disciple Bible Study, Companions in Christ, Christian Believer or Alpha small groups, we urge you to continue in these life-giving experiences.

Tell a few of your friends...

We encourage you to invite a few family members, friends, neighbors, co-workers and acquaintances. You will be supported with prayer, training, and tips and ideas on how to invite other to be a part of your group. Ask yourself: who do you know who would benefit from a weekly Bible-based study in a small group setting?

Don't miss out on an opportunity to develop strong Christian relationships and Christian community that can grow in a home-based small group–a HomeGroup.
