Family Ministry
As a Family Ministry Team, we are strongly committed to supporting parents as they train up their children in the way they should go. At Christ Church, the Family Ministry Team is here to connect all families within the church to each other and the body of Christ through study, fellowship, outreach and service. We host a variety of events for families and couples like the annual Easter Egg Hunt and a special Valentine's dinner. We also sponsor church-wide pot lucks and other fellowship opportunities.
Throughout the year there are periodic opportunities for parents to grow in their faith (and parenting skills) through Bible studies and special parenting seminars. It is our prayer that these activities will strengthen our families and help them grow closer to each other as a community of faith.
Easter Egg Hunt
Every Easter we host an Easter Egg Hunt for the church and community. This is a day to come together and celebrate with each other the love of God found in Christ Jesus.
Live Nativity
Christmas at Christ Church would not be complete without our annual Live Nativity and Children’s Program. The Children’s Choirs will be presenting a program in the Sanctuary at 4:00 pm. Afterwards, there are refreshments, crafts, a hayride, live nativity animals, and games in the Family Life Center. This is a great family event appropriate for kids and adults, and you won’t want to miss it.

Parenting with Love and Logic Fall 2009
Love and Logic is a philosophy founded by Jim Fay and Foster W. Cline, M.D., and is based on the experience of a combined total of over 75 years working with and raising kids. It provides simple and practical techniques to help teachers and parents have less stress and more fun while raising responsible kids. Love and Logic offers many useful techniques that teachers and parents can begin experimenting with immediately. Here are some examples:
- Locking–in sadness or empathy before delivering consequences
- Setting limits with enforceable statements
- Sharing control through lots of small choices
- Building relationships with the One Sentence Intervention
- Neutralizing arguing with the Brain Dead technique
- The Anticipatory Consequence
- Love and Logic is easy to use, raises responsible kids, and changes lives
Sweetheart Events
In February, we host a Sweetheart event for the members of Christ Church and the community. This is an opportunity for the community of faith to come together in fellowship and love to focus on relational growth.
