Children's Choirs
Our Children's Choir program includes children in preschool through fifth grade. They sing in the worship services periodically throughout the year and at special occasions. They also present musicals in the fall during the Live Nativity and in the spring.
Children's Choirs have three options of meeting times.
Wednesdays during the school year from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. Classes will consist of two 30-minute lessons in music, art, dance, games, music theory, drama and instruments such as recorders, bells, chimes and boomwhackers.
Sundays during the school year at the 8:15 or 11:05 am worship times.
8:15 - they meet in Room 203 and are released to their parents in front of the Chapel directly following the service.
11:05 - children are picked up from the Sanctuary following the Children's Sermon in the traditional service and taken to the choir room for rehearsal. They are released to their parents in front of the Chapel directly following the service.
Children's Chimes is a program which is open to kids in grades 3 - 5. This choir meets on Wednesdays from 5:00 - 5:30 pm
Children who have registered for the Children's Music Program may participate in Wednesday and/or Sunday choirs.
Childrens Choirs
The following choirs rehearse on Wednesday evenings during the school year. Children may join choir at any time.
Cherub Chimes
In this choir, the children play small bells or chimes. It is open to children from 3rd through 5th grade. The choir rehearses from 5:00 – 5:30 pm in room 11 (under the Sanctuary) and is under the direction of Lajuan Ellis-Thayer. This choir includes training in music reading and ensemble playing.
"Wee"joice Choir
This choir consists of children in Pre-K and Kindergarten and meets in room 11/12 from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. This choir is under the direction of Carla Rozario.
Music Makers Choir
This choir consists of children in 1st and 2nd grade and meets in room 11/12 (under the Sanctuary) from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. This choir is under the direction of Carla Rozario.
Finale Choir
This choir, made up of 3rd – 5th graders meets in the choir room (under the Sanctuary) from 5:30 - 6:30 pm and is under the direction of Lajuan Ellis-Thayer.
