Children's Choirs
The Music Ministry believes that Children’s Choir is an integral part of a child’s faith development. In addition to providing an environment for spiritual growth, it also provides them with opportunities to serve in worship services and in the community and puts a song in their hearts. Designed for children in preschool through fifth grade, the choirs follow the Fort Bend ISD calendar. Choirs are open to members or visitors. They present two musicals during the year, one during Advent and one in the spring.
There are three opportunities to participate in Children's Choir, and children may participate in any or all of the meeting times:
Wednesdays at 5:30 - 6:30 pm in Room 11/12: Classes will consist of a combination of choir plus additional instruction in music, art, dance, games, music theory, drama and instruments such as recorders, bells, chimes and boomwhackers. (Chimes begin at 5:00 pm.) Regular class will begin on Wednesday, August 31st, 2011.
Sundays at 8:15 am: Children can be dropped off in Room 203 and are released to their parents in front of the Chapel directly following the service. The choir begins on Promotion Sunday, August 21st, 2011.
Sundays at 11:00 am: Children can be dropped off directly following 9:45 Service or Sunday School in room 109. Lajuan Ellis-Thayer (the Director) will pick up the choir kids promptly at 11:00 am and take them to a reserved front row of the Sanctuary to participate in worship until after the Children’s sermon and will take them to Children’s Choir rehearsal in the choir room. Children will be dismissed from the Chapel at 12:05. The choir begins on Promotion Sunday, August 21st, 2011.
Children's Chimes: Chimes is a program which is open to children in grades 3 - 5. This choir meets on Wednesdays from 5:00 - 5:30 pm. It is imperative that children participating in this choir be here and checked in at the kiosk ready to ring in Room 11/12 at 5:00 sharp. They too participate and perform in periodic worship services throughout the year. Lynne Clark will be the new Chimes Director this year. She comes with much excitement as well as experience in Chimes/ Bells.
All Children participating in choir must check in at the kiosks and get a tag that identifies them as Children’s Choir participants.

Childrens Choirs
The following choirs rehearse on Wednesday evenings during the school year. Children may join choir at any time.
Cherub Chimes
In this choir, the children play small bells or chimes. It is open to children from 3rd through 5th grade. The choir rehearses from 5:00 – 5:30 pm in room 11 (under the Sanctuary) and is under the direction of Lajuan Ellis-Thayer. This choir includes training in music reading and ensemble playing.
"Wee"joice Choir
This choir consists of children in Pre-K and Kindergarten and meets in room 11/12 from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. This choir is under the direction of Carla Rozario.
Music Makers Choir
This choir consists of children in 1st and 2nd grade and meets in room 11/12 (under the Sanctuary) from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. This choir is under the direction of Carla Rozario.
Finale Choir
This choir, made up of 3rd – 5th graders meets in the choir room (under the Sanctuary) from 5:30 - 6:30 pm and is under the direction of Lajuan Ellis-Thayer.
