Children's Sunday School
Children (18 month as of Sept 1st, 2009 through the 5th grade) are assigned to one of our children’s Sunday school classes at 9:45 am. We encourage families to make Sunday school attendance a priority for their children as our Children’s Ministry team has mapped out a plan to help you raise your children in the faith.
Age Level Goals and Objectives (pdf)
All children are asked to check-in at one of our Computer Kiosk Stations. A volunteer there will take a few seconds to ask for the last four digits of your primary phone number, which will bring up your family information on the touch screen. After confirming the classroom assignments and the time of attendance the volunteer will print a nametag for each child and a parent’s security claim check.
Children wear the nametag on their clothes for security purposes at all times while in the building. Children 3rd - 5th grade will be allowed to check-in without a parent. At the end of the class time, parents need to go directly to their child’s classroom and present their security claim check to pick up children 2nd grade and younger.
If you have not attended a class at Christ Church before, the volunteer will take a few seconds to input your basic information, ask you to fill out a visitor card and assign your child to the age-appropriate class.

If you've never used our online forms, you may want to review How to Register Online.
18 Months - 2 Years Old
Children experience God’s love through loving volunteers and learning simple truths about the Christian faith. They learn about God’s love as we focus on a monthly theme. The children have a gathering time, snack, craft, Bible story, music and prayer.
3 - 4 Years Old
With an emphasis on Prayer, obedience and worship (POW) the children experience the stories of the Bible and engage in crafts, circle activities, prayer thought, snack and a key Bible verse.
Kindergarten
Using “The Young Readers Bible,” the children will continue to grow in their knowledge of the Bible stories and explore how to apply the Biblical teachings to their own lives. They will have a hands-on experience with the Bible as they explore Old and New Testament stories.
They will know: What has God made? What has God given me? Who is Jesus? What is prayer, and why do we do it? How do I worship God? Character development includes manners, respect, and kindness.
First and Second Grade
Using the Workshop rotation model the children will explore major Bible stories and concepts through kid friendly multimedia workshops including art, drama, music, games, AV, puppets, storytelling, geography, science, & missions.
Third Grade
After receiving their Bibles in September, the students will spend the year discovering and exploring the origin and significance of the Bible and how to use it. They will learn that the Bible is God’s personal message to each one of them.
Fourth Grade
Using an activity based curriculum the children will follow a road map through the Old Testament. They will learn the story of God’s people from creation to Christ. They are challenged to discover the meaning of this story and how it is significant to them right now. Each lesson includes:
- THE BUZZ - what the lesson is about
- THE WORD - A Bible verse chosen for it’s relevance to the lesson that day
- THE EXTREME CONNECTION - relates the lesson to kids’ lives
- RAPPING WITH GOD - A kid-friendly prayer, and
- JUST DO IT - Bible reading opportunities for that lesson.
Special activities are planned throughout the year to help the children explore the Old Testament such as Old Testament dramas, Noah’s ark project, and pizza and movie night.
Fifth Grade
Using an activity based curriculum the children will follow a road map through the New Testament.
Special activities are planned throughout the year to help the children explore the New Testament such as Parable dramas, Seder, Last Supper dinner and drama and popcorn Sundays.
All children in sixth grade and higher are invited to join Student Ministry.
