Adult Choirs
Christ Church offers both Choral and Handbell choirs and a Harp Ensemble. Our adult choirs are open to anyone in sixth grade or higher, and you can join most of them at any time throughout the year. The time commitments vary from choir to choir. Always friendly and open, all choirs have quarterly fellowship events, holiday gatherings, an annual choir retreat and have participated in numerous choir tours.
Choral Choirs
Chancel Choir
Under the direction of Lahonda Sharp, Chancel Choir, consisting of adult and youth, presents music of all types for the 11:05am traditional worship service. The choir rehearses every Wednesday from 7:00 - 9:00 pm in the choir room. To join this choir, contact Lahonda Sharp or Wes Whiddon.
Festival Choir
The Festival Choir is a musical ensemble that presents major choral works with orchestra and sings for special events at Christ Church. The group combines the forces of the Chancel Choir, Joyful Noise Choir as well as individuals who, due to time restraints, chose to participate in this ensemble only. Joyful Noise
Under the direction of Lahonda Sharp, Joyful Noise provides music for the 9:45 am traditional worship service. Rehearsals are every Sunday morning at 8:30 am in the choir room with the group going directly into service at 9:45 am. To join this choir, contact Lahonda Sharp or Dean Lowe
Singing Churchmen
Under the direction of Reed Hoke, this men's chorus periodically provides music for both the 9:45 & 11:05 services. When they are scheduled to sing, the rehearsal occurs that Sunday morning at 8:15 am prior to the worship services. To join this choir, contact Brad Michael.
Women's Choir
Under the direction of Molly Ness, this Women's chorus periodically provides music for both the 9:45 & 11:05 services. When they are scheduled to sing, the rehearsal occurs that Sunday morning at 8:15 am prior to the worship services. To join this choir, contact Molly Ness.
Instrumental Choirs
Joy Bells
This handbell choir welcomes beginning ringers and is under the direction of the assistant handbell director, Molly Ness. This ensemble rehearses in the sanctuary every Monday from 6:15 pm-7:15 pm. A working knowledge of music is helpful but not necessary. Joy Bells ring during traditional services periodically, and new members can join anytime by contacting Molly Ness.
Jubilation Ringers
This handbell choir is for experienced handbell ringers and is under the direction of Molly Ness. This ensemble rehearses every Monday from 7:15 - 8:15 pm in the sanctuary. Jubilation Ringers rings periodically during traditional services. To join Jubilation Ringers, contact Molly Ness
Senior Ringers
This new musical opportunity is created for all interested persons, especially Older Adults. It offers a place to learn, serve and fellowship through the art of ringing chimes or handbells. No experience is necessary and success is inevitable. The instruments are lightweight and always in tune, easy to transport to performance venues and enhance worship offerings. Rehearsals are Mondays from 10:30 - 11:30 am under the direction of Molly Ness. To join the Senior Ringers, contact Molly Ness or Rev. Kathy Kirkpatrick.
Sacred Harp Ensemble
Under the direction of Molly Ness, this celtic lever harp ensemble rehearses Thursdays 1:00 - 3:00 pm in the Choir Room. Their sacred music repertoire will reflect varying levels of experience. New players are welcome! Instruction and musical scores are provided. Extra lap harps are on site for hands-on practice, and additional harps are available for rental.
