Discover Your Servant Heart Workshop
1 Corinthians 12: 4-7
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
What is the Discover Your Servant Heart Workshop?
This multimedia workshop focuses on discovering who God designed us to be and what tools He's given us in order to accomplish His purposes. God loves us. That's a fact. God wants us to build His kingdom. That's a fact. God wants us to develop a personal relationship with Him. That's a fact. God guarantees us life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? That's a myth. Through this workshop, we'll take a look within the Bible and ourselves to analyze three core elements God has uniquely designed in each of us; passion, personality, and spiritual gifts. Then, with that knowledge in place, we can make decisions about our service with confidence, secure in our understanding of what God has planned for us.
At Christ United Methodist Church we believe that God has brought each of us together in this place to fulfill His vision of our church. Each believer brings a unique combination of Spiritual gifts, personality, and God-given passion. This workshop helps believers begin the process of understanding and pursuing their unique place in God's plan.
We hope you'll join us in our desire to build up the body of Christ. Through God's grace we are saved and our hearts and hands are opened to serve Him.
Why participate in Discover Your Servant Heart?
Peter 4:10-11
"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen."
It's Biblical. We are created to serve.
For you, dear friends, have been called to live in freedom -- not freedom to satisfy your sinful nature, but freedom to serve one another in love. Galatians 5:13 (NLT)
It's God-honoring. Serving is a form of worship. We call it worshipful work.
And so, dear Christian friends, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice-- the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask? Romans 12:1 (NLT)
It's purposeful. People need meaningful places of service.
God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. Romans 12:6 (NLT)
It's investing. Developing people, builds disciples.
He is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-12 (NLT)
