Unleashing Love
God loves you!
Of course this isn’t the first time someone from the church has told you that. But think about it. We’re talking about the God of the universe. The Creator of everything. The One who is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. This God loves you with an unconditional, self-sacrificing, active love.
When you really consider it, it’s kind of crazy, but it’s also freeing. When the God of creation passionately loves us, then who can be against us? There is nothing that can bind us that He cannot break. What then should our response be to this liberating love? Surely it must be something more than the status quo.
This fall at Christ Church we invite you to join us in exploring this love and how we must respond to it. On Sunday, October 9th, we will launch our 2011 Fall Stewardship Campaign, Unleashing Love. Commitment Sunday will be on Sunday, November 13th when everyone will be invited to express their intentions for how they will participate in the life and ministry of our church in 2012. We will conclude the campaign on Sunday, November 20th as we celebrate the profound love that God has shown us.
During these seven weeks, we will study how the love of Christ unleashes us to live in a way that is radically different, and how we, as His church, can unleash His love into the world. The sermon series and small group curriculum for the campaign will be based on the New York Times best-selling book, Crazy Love – Overwhelmed by a Relentless God, by Francis Chan. We ask that you will prepare your hearts and that you will be open to the love and great purpose that Jesus Christ has for you.
