Mission: Possible
Are you ready to be a part of something significant? Our community is growing, and we have to be prepared to meet that growing need. In order to do so, Christ Church has made a commitment to firm up the church's financial foundation by paying off our debt.
This will allow us to greatly expand the work of Jesus Christ and Christ Church in our community and the world around us. We will be able to expand our ministries, provide additional opportunities for spiritual growth and increase our support for missions. This is an opportunity for us to make a difference for generations to come!
Mission: Possible challenges us to do the extraordinary--to give sacrificially, over and above our current giving for three years. It invites us to focus on our individual willingness to respond to God's goodness. Using the biblical model of giving, we are not asking every person to give an equal share, but to consider making an equal sacrifice. Scripture teaches us that God does not bless the amount of our gifts, but the proportion offered in relation to what we've been given and the attitude of our hearts.
Each of us is asked to pray, to seek God's will and to give sacrificially as we feel led by God. Specifically, we are asking everyone to offer up this simple prayer, "Lord, what do you want to do through me?"

What Are the Goals?
We have 377 families who have committed to support Mission: Possible with gifts totaling $3,038,349! This is the LARGEST CAPITAL CAMPAIGN in Christ Church history.
First Step Goal - $1.5 million
We have already surpassed this goal!
Challenge Goal - $2.5 million
We have already surpassed this goal! Instead of paying off our debt in 13 years, we will now be able to pay off the note by August 2012!
Sacrifice Goal - $3.5 million
Reaching this would be a tremendous accomplishment, allowing us to completely repay our debt in 3 years when combined with our regular principal and interest payments.

What Happens When We Repay Our Debt?
After our debt is repaid in full, funding of debt service payments ($445,500 annually) would be replaced with the funding of two designated accounts as follows:
- The Future Fund: This would be a new line item in the church operating budget with an annual funding budget of $330,000 annually. This will be used to help fund future building projects or to cover operating shortfalls or emergency needs not covered by other funding sources. The Finance Committee would recommend that no significant building projects begin construction until at least 4 years following the repayment of the debt.
- Extraordinary Missions & Ministries: This would also be a new line item with an annual funding of $115,500 annually. EMM funds may be used to support (i) local programs (such as East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry) or non-local programs (such as Reynosa Missions); (ii) new mission ministries or existing missions ministries (such as Habitat for Humanity); or (iii) new or existing Christ Church ministry programs. The disposition of the funds will be determined from time to time by the recommendation of the Pastoral Staff and the approval of the Finance Committee and the Administrative Council. This program will be evaluated four years following the repayment of the debt.
