Dear Friends,

In 1 Timothy 6:18-19, Paul instructs Christ's followers "...to do good, to be rich in good works, generous, and ready to share, thus storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they might take hold of the life that really is life." Each fall, we invite our congregants to consider what actions they'll take in the coming year to grow spiritually; to move ever closer toward that real life Paul describes. This web document you are viewing is a tool that can help you formulate a plan for your personal spiritual growth and your future in Christ. It has three components:

The Discipleship, or Connect and Grow, component will invite you to:

  • participate regularly in a Sunday School class, HomeGroup and/or other small group
attend a class or event sponsored by one of the Adult Discipleship ministries

The Service, or Serve and Grow, component will invite you to:

  • identify those ministries in which you now serve, and will continue to serve
    discover new ways to serve

The Give and Grow component (found on a separate Give and Grow card) will invite you to:

  • make a financial commitment in support of the ministry of the church

Please take some time in the next week or two to prayerfully consider both the Spiritual Growth Plan and the Give and Grow card. For additional details on the church's many discipleship and service opportunities, refer to the Serve and Grow Ministry Guide found on our website at www.cumcsl.org/grow . See the back of the Give and Grow card for more information about our church's financial philosophy.

I hope that this process will help you to do as Timothy instructs - to "take hold of the life that really is life." Take a step toward that real life and turn in both your 2010 Spiritual Growth Plan and Give and Grow card during worship services on Sunday, December 6th.

Bless you,

Dear God,

Please hear this prayer.
Use these ministries
to guide us along
on our journey.
Through Your Word,
may our mind and
spirit grow ever
closer to You, and
may our hearts
and hands find a
way to be in
Your service always.
We ask this in your
Son’s precious name.

Amen
