Missions

Missions Ministry provides a life changing experience by allowing people to be the hands of Christ in serving others beyond our church walls.

Ministry	Description	Service Time

Angel Tree	Provide Christmas gifts & dinners by adopting students through the FBISD Shared Dreams, Restorative Justice and the elderly in local nursing homes.	*

Child Abuse Prevention	Supports ongoing organizations in the community that handle child abuse such as Child Advocates of Fort Bend and Rainbow Room.	*

Cote d'Ivoire Mission	Provide help to a hurting country in Africa by collecting supplies, purchasing/delivering malaria prevention nets and/or renovating a local hospital	*

Disaster Relief	Assist in relief efforts from Hurricane Ike, in the event of a new disaster or be part of a trained Early Responder team	*

East Fort Bend Human Needs	Provides assistance to families in temporary financial crisis in the form of food, clothing, and financial assistance by helping the Food Pantry and Resale Shop	*

Fort Bend Family Promise	Christ Church serves as a host church 4 weeks a year for homeless families; dinner hosts, meal preparation, drivers, and overnight hosting are needed during our host week. Help is also needed at the Family Center on an ongoing basis.	*

Four Corners	Reach out to the local Four Corners community with various projects such as home repair and VBS	*

Garden Ministry	Christ Church garden, located behind the Family Life Center, grows fresh vegetables that are donated to the EFBHNM Food Bank; come harvest to help the hungry	**

Gifts Unto Others	Help coordinate an alternative opportunity for gift givers to select gifts that benefit local, national and international mission projects.	*

H.O.M.E. Project	A one day service project, held in the Spring that makes repairs to low income housing in the Fort Bend area; special skills are not required, only willing hearts and hands	*

Habitat for Humanity	Help finance and build an affordable home for a deserving family	*

Holley Elementary	Provide mentoring, tutoring, supplies and Sonshine to teachers and students of our partner school	*

Manna Bags	Provide non-perishable food items and “soul food” to the homeless; sold in the Ministry Center	*

Meals on Wheels	Deliver meals to home bound seniors in the Fort Bend area; small time commitment provides a much needed service for our elderly friends.	**

Medicine Boxes/Flood Buckets	Medical/Flood supplies and funds are collected and forwarded to UMCOR to be used in emergency response programs in the US and overseas	*

Mexico Missions	Travel throughout the year to the border towns of Mexico to deliver food bags, Bibles, hold VBS and Medical clinics at our sister churches and support service projects as needed	*

Nothing But Nets	Provide and deliver malaria prevention to Africa	*

Restorative Justice	We support Kairos (Walk to Emmaus), Alpha, DISCIPLE Bible Study, one-on-one mentoring, letters of support and Aftercare for those in men’s & women’s prisons and Cool Water for the officers	*

S.I.R.E.	Self Improvement through Riding Education is a therapeutic horseback riding program for those with disabilities	*

Supply Our Students (S.O.S.)	Holds a sponsorship drive to purchase prepackaged school supplies for FBISD & SMD students in need.	*

Soles For Souls	Provide new shoes for FBISD students in need serviced through the Shared Dreams program	*
